Job summary

In keeping with the culture and values of the Conseil des Atikamekw d'Opitciwan (CAO) and the mission of its service, provides prevention, screening, assistance, support and assessment of adjustment difficulties and adaptive capacities for students who present or are likely to present adjustment difficulties. Develops and implements an intervention plan, with the aim of creating conditions conducive to the student's optimal adaptation, recovery and development of adaptive capacities and autonomy, in interaction with his or her environment. The psychoeducator provides advice and support to school staff and parents. The psychoeducator participates in the development and implementation of the psychoeducational service, while respecting the educational and administrative frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out assessments of students' adjustment difficulties and adaptive capacities in order to establish an intervention plan to meet students' needs;
  • Participate, as part of a multidisciplinary team, in the development, drafting and monitoring of intervention plans to meet the specific needs of a student or group;

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychoeducation;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des psychoéducateurs et des psychoéducatrices du Québec.
  • Québec;
  • Two years' experience in schools;
  • Knowledge and experience in the First Nations environment, an asset.

Our compensation package

  • Compensation: between $41.31 and $60.67 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • 40-hour week.
  • Start date: as soon as possible.
  • Permanent position after a 6-month trial period.
