In keeping with the culture and values of the Conseil des Atikamekw d'Opitciwan (CAO) and the mission of the department, coordinates all special education activities for elementary and secondary students with disabilities or learning or adjustment difficulties (ADHD). Must offer the necessary support to students with special needs or at risk of failure to promote their academic success in various contexts (regular class, special class, special school, etc.), adapting interventions to the needs of these students and collaborating with other educational agents. As a special education resource person, facilitates the implementation of educational strategies and programs that promote the progress and success of students with special needs.

Your role

  • Coordinate the Special Education Program;
  • Participate, as part of a multidisciplinary team, in the development, drafting and monitoring of
  • intervention plans to meet the specific needs of a student or group;
  • Fulfill administrative and financial obligations related to the Education Program
  • special;
  • Plan and monitor the implementation of individual intervention plans;

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant;
  • Five years' experience in the special education sector;
  • Knowledge and experience in the First Nations environment;
  • Fluency in written and spoken French;
  • No criminal record.

Your benefits

  • Salary between $42.96 and $63.09 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications;
  • Permanent position after a 6-month trial period;
  • 40-hour week.
