Teacher's aide

In keeping with the culture and values of the Conseil des Atikamekw d'Opitciwan (CAO) and the mission of its department, teacher assistants at the elementary and secondary levels provide support to students and help teachers carry out their teaching and other non-teaching duties. They assist with teaching and behavior management in collaboration with teachers or other professionals, taking notes according to established procedures and reporting to the right resources.

Responsibilities :

• Attend class according to the schedule and planning established by the teacher or professional;
• Ensure respect for school rules;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of educational services

Requirements: 

• Certificate in Native Teacher Assistant Training or Certificate in Elementary Education Coaching OR Short Undergraduate Program in Native Education + 2 years' experience in leading or taking charge of groups of young people aged 0 to 17 OR Diploma of College Studies in Social Work Technique or Special Education Technique OR any other experience or training deemed equivalent;
• Knowledge and experience in the First Nations environment;
• Fluency in written and spoken French;
• No criminal record.

Our offer :

• Compensation between $28.09 and $36.65 per hour depending on experience and qualifications;
• Replacement position;
• 35-hour week;
